Nemanja Matic is set to be reunited with former boss Jose
Mourinho at Manchester United, according to reports.
The Chelsea midfielder has been left out his club’s
pre-season tour to China and Malaysia ahead of completing his expected exit
from Stamford Bridge.
Juventus have been credited with an interest in the Serbian
international as the Champions League finalists look to strengthen their
midfield.
But the Red Devils are ready to enter into negotiations with
the Premier League champions, with Blues owner Roman Abramovich ready to
sanction a deal for the 28-year-old.
Mourinho has decided to push ahead with a transfer for
Matic, according to the Daily Mirror, after growing frustrated in his pursuit
of Tottenham’s Eric Dier.
United are said to have lodged a £35million bid for the
Serbian but are likely to have to fork out closer to £50million, with Chelsea
still reeling from missing out on Romelu Lukaku.
